The German Luftwaffe & Heer Paratrooper Badges of World War II 1936-1945
This book is invaluable to anyone who is considering purchasing even one Fallschirmjäger badge, be it Luftwaffe or Heer. The book is well worth the cost for its quality and complete coverage of this rare and highly reproduced German Combat Award. Combine this with the cost and disappointment of purchasing just one of these reproductions rather than an original badge, and the book becomes even more valuable in educating German Third Reich badge collectors.
I collect only German Army badges, and do not own even one Heeres-Fallschirmjäger Abzeichen. With that said, this book is still very helpful for educating me to the specific characteristics of German Combat Badges produced during the Third Reich. Every known variant of each manufacturer is covered in large color photos over four pages for each badge, no matter how small the difference between the production materials. Close-up photos and captions display and discuss the changes in variations and features to look for in each type. Very nicely done. Coverage includes cloth badges, award cases and award documents plus photos of the award in wear.
